Problem.
Small businesses can't afford a full-time designer but need consistent creative output — emails, social, mockups, web work. Hourly contracts are friction-heavy and slow. Most "Design as a Service" players ship slow, generic work because they're optimizing for queue throughput, not quality.
Approach.
Subscription model — flat $3,999/mo (Standard) or $5,999/mo (Pro with web build). Trello board per client; one active request at a time, unlimited revisions until satisfied, ~48h turnaround on each. Pause and resume any time. Source files (PSD, AI, Figma) handed over. WordPress front-end with Stripe and the Trello API gluing intake to delivery.
Outcome.
Live agency with multiple paying subscribers, an operating playbook documented end-to-end, and a portfolio that includes brand work, websites, social, and product mockups. GrantRule.com (case study above) is one of the agency's published projects. Hookup.Design also designed Dandre Menu and has been the home for most of my client design work since 2022.
